Overview
Sogang University Graduate School of Public Policy was established in November 1987 to nurture professional talents who can lead human resources of Korea within rapidly changing environment in 21st century.
The changes of global order in 21st century requires development of international relationship studies based on various regional population. In response to this, Sogang University Graduate School of Public Policy established special graduate school that studies regional studies for the first time in nation and currently in 7 departments with 27 majors about 210 graduate school students are enrolled. By connecting policy studies and regional studies, provide conditions to systematically combine and study theory, practical experiences and policy. Sogang University Graduate School of Public Policy was established with the basic purpose to nurture human resources in professional area with creativity and execution ability to respond to new generation including “advent of Korean reunification in 21st century”, “status and increasing role as advanced country”, “increase of work on social policy and welfare administration for enhancement of life quality”, “construction based on environment of developed countries” and so on. Also plans to be transformed as new phase along with the medium to longer term development plan of the university headquarters’ enhancement of academism by graduate school centered education based on academic supremacy.

Specialization of Education
Dimensional Curriculum: Sogang University Graduate School of Public Policy organized international relationsㆍtrade and foreign affairs major, North Koreaㆍ unification policy major, Chinese studies within international, regional studies fields and organized social welfare major, social cultural policy major, public administration·law· environment major, political management in public policy studies fields so that the students can obtain opportunity to learn about various studies upon their interests.
Practical Curriculum: Graduate School of Public Policy is working hard to offer those students who are currently working in practical fields with theory on the basis of practice capabilities along with abilities to apply new knowledge in their practical fields. Sogang University Graduate School of Public Policy installed and operates majors in order to adjust to the students who are currently working in each fields. So the curriculum is organized by basic courses for students to gain basic knowledge on practical fields and courses that provide high level of knowledge to be applied in practical fields.
